I appreciate all the time you have taken to file FOI requests and research. But after reading your book I’m concerned you’re not being entirely honest.
After watching Lone Survivor I discovered the following statement from your book about the movie is completely false.
There is no mention of liberals or the liberal media and no suggestion of killing the goat-herders and covering it up.
There clearly is suggestion of killing the goat-herders and covering it up. There is also mention of CNN — which many conservative Americans consider liberal media.
From the movie:
- Team leader Murphy says it is an option to “terminate the compromise”.
- Luttrell says “What are we gonna do? We gonna kill them? Huh? Ok we kill them. Then what? Fuckin’ bury them? They get found. Then what?…You just think it would be our little secret?
- Axe responds: “Schwack ‘em.”
All three of those lines suggest killing the goat-herders.
Would you agree you made a mistake? Can you please explain your thinking?
Regardless, I agree the DoD’s involvement in films is a subject worth looking into and I really do appreciate some of the work you have done thus far.
