Flawed Argentina Ivermectin Study Exposed to be Likely Fraudulent

In December 2020, Dr. Pierre Kory delivered a passionate testimony to the US Senate, claiming that ivermectin was the “solution” to the COVID-19 pandemic. Perhaps the most compelling study Kory cited was by Dr. Hector Carvallo of Argentina. According to the study, all healthcare workers who participated and took ivermectin did not get COVID-19. However, the study now appears to be fraudulent.

To many, the 100% success rate seemed hopeful and promising; however, several medical practitioners were instantly skeptical of the unprecedented results. Dr. Graham Walker explained, “That just doesn’t happen in medicine. Even in the most effective drugs we have, the randomness of nature and the imperfection of humanity, makes it so no trials end up that way.”

Dr. Gideon Meyerowitz-Katz, an epidemiologist and blogger, took a deep dive into the data and rang the alarm on Twitter after discovering multiple red flags and “endless issues”, including multiple errors of basic elementary school level addition.

In fact, the data is so inconsistent that Meyerowitz-Katz questions “whether this study even took place at all.”

Another concerned researcher, Dr. Kyle Sheldrick, reached out to the study’s lead author for the raw data. (After all, if a study contained evidence of a 100% life-saving intervention in the middle of a deadly pandemic, one would expect an author to be eager to share that information, right?)

Sheldrick was denied.

A new Buzzfeed investigation found that a hospital named in the paper as taking part in the experiments says it has no record of it happening.
