AOC says she can’t get a floor vote for Medicare for All. But that’s no longer the case. She and the other progressive Dems can force a vote by threatening to withhold their vote from Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House. It’s a solid strategy that the past AOC endorsed!
The Medicare for All vote will be a success even if it doesn’t pass. We will get to see who really supports M4A and who doesn’t. Forcing a vote also forces the issue to be taken seriously. Otherwise, it will continue to be ignored and used as a meaningless talking point.
The time is now. They will not have this leverage AFTER the Speaker of the House vote on January 3. So please tell AOC and her squad to put up or shut up if they’re serious about advancing Medicare for All. Tell them to #ForceTheVote!
